Best sales funnel course for beginners: the shortlist at a glance

Six courses are worth a beginner’s time in 2026. One Funnel Away is the pick for anyone who will build in ClickFunnels. The other five win in narrower cases, and three of them cost nothing at all.

Only two of these make you build something as part of the course: One Funnel Away (one funnel in ClickFunnels) and the HighLevel challenge (a lead funnel plus booking). Systeme.io’s certification teaches every feature but leaves the project to you. Great Learning gets you through the theory in one evening, and Alison’s longer theory course is CPD-accredited. Udemy depends on the course.

How we picked: five questions a beginner should ask

The pages ranking for this search are mostly lists of links. None adds up the software bill or says how long a day the course takes. We judged every course on five questions:

1. Do you finish with a live funnel? Watching is not building.
2. What does it cost once the software is included? A free course on $97/month software is not a free course.
3. How much time a day? Total hours and daily load are different problems for someone with a job.
4. When was it last updated? A 2019 tutorial shows you buttons that may have moved.
5. Which tool does it assume? Every build course teaches one editor. Match it to the tool you’ll keep.

We left out programmes we couldn’t verify on the same day, and pages built on income stories.

1. One Funnel Away Challenge: best if you’ll build in ClickFunnels

The One Funnel Away Challenge is the best sales funnel course for beginners who have already chosen ClickFunnels, or are happy to. It’s built around one outcome: a working sales funnel in your own account by the end. Its FAQ says it’s for “online beginners/entrepreneurs/creatives/small business owners who are just starting out.”

What it costs

Joining is $0. The order form has exactly one product line: “ClickFunnels (Launch) Free for 14 days then $97.00 / month.” You enter a card at checkout. There’s no plan picker and no annual option on that page.

Two extras are optional:

• Fill Your Funnel Challenge, $47 one-time. An order bump on the checkout: traffic training pitched for “any funnel, site, or store, no matter what platform you use.”
• VIP, $100 one-time per cohort. Offered after checkout, not on the sales page. It adds live daily coaching Monday to Friday, a VIP-only community and a choice of cohort start date.

So the first 30 days cost $0 if you cancel before day 14, $97 if you stay on Launch, $144 with the bump ($97 + $47), or $244 with the bump and one VIP cohort ($97 + $47 + $100). We couldn’t find refund terms for the two add-ons, so don’t count on getting those back.

What you build and how long it takes

The sales page asks for “just 60 minutes a day.” The challenge runs 28 missions over four weeks, with “short, focused lessons released each weekday,” according to ClickFunnels’ help centre. It’s self-paced, so a missed day doesn’t sink you.

There are two tracks, and you get access to both. Expert, taught by Russell Brunson, covers info products, coaching and services. Ecom, taught by Trey Lewellen, covers physical products. A help-centre doc from June 2025 adds weekly live calls with OFA experts and guests plus community access on the base tier. Daily live coaching is VIP only.

The Launch plan underneath gives you 10K contacts, 50K emails a month, 3 courses and 5 custom domains. That is plenty for a first funnel.

What it assumes about you

• You’ll keep ClickFunnels. The FAQ says you “NEED ClickFunnels software for the challenge.” If you’ll build elsewhere later, you’re learning an editor you won’t use.
• You’ll have something to sell. The FAQ says “You can come to the challenge with a blank slate,” and the team helps you choose, but a funnel needs an offer, so arrive with an idea if you can.
• You can find an hour a day. Four weeks of 60 minutes is far more than the 1.5–7 hours of the free courses.

The catch: day 14

On the daily schedule, the trial ends around Mission 14, the end of week 2. You have to decide whether ClickFunnels is worth $97/month before you’ve finished the course that was meant to show you.

If you miss it, ClickFunnels’ pricing page says “Yes, we have a 30-day money back guarantee.” The OFA page itself promises to “cancel your ClickFunnels membership with zero hassle” within 30 days. 2. Systeme.io certification: best free course, no card

Systeme.io’s certification is the best free sales funnel course if you won’t put a card down. Systeme.io calls it “completely free.” It’s 18 training videos with a knowledge test after each section, and “no deadline or time limit.” Systeme.io says “most users complete the video course and assessment in 3–7 hours.”

You need a Systeme.io account, and the free plan is enough. That plan is $0 with no credit card, and gives you 2,000 contacts, 3 sales funnels, 1 course, 1 custom domain, unlimited emails and 0% transaction fees. A separate funnel-builder certification trims it to 17 videos focused on funnels, still free and still at your own pace.

The honest limit: it teaches every feature (funnels, websites, email and automation, courses, affiliates, payments, CRM pipelines, webinars), but it doesn’t walk you through one project to a live funnel. Set your own build task before video one: an opt-in page, a thank-you page and a follow-up email, built as you watch.

3. HighLevel 5 Day Challenge: best for local leads and bookings

HighLevel’s challenge is free, but you “have to sign up for your free 14-day HighLevel trial (or be an existing customer).” After the trial, the Starter plan is $97/month or $970/year, and HighLevel’s pricing page says “billing starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel.” That’s the same shape of bill as One Funnel Away, in five days instead of four weeks.

The agenda runs from capturing a lead to closing it:

Tuesday has you build a funnel and publish a lead form; Thursday sets up appointment booking with reminders. No dates were listed on the page when we checked.

It assumes a lead-and-appointment business: local services, consultants, agencies. If you sell a course or a physical product, it’s the wrong course, because it teaches booking calls, not checkout pages. The optional HighLevel Certification Program costs another $97/month. 4. Udemy sales funnel courses: cheap, but check the date

The top Udemy result for this search was last updated on 30 December 2019. That’s a 2019 course ranking for a 2026 query. Udemy’s public course data for five courses ranking for this search:

Two of those have “free” in the title and are paid courses: the free part is the software. The one genuinely free course teaches ClickFunnels and dates from February 2022.

Three rules make Udemy worth it:

1. Check “last updated” first. Anything before 2024 is likely showing an older version of the editor.
2. Check which tool it teaches. Match it to the software you’ll use.
3. Use the refund window. Eligible courses can be refunded within 30 days of purchase. Some refunds come back as Udemy credit, and subscription plans are excluded.

Udemy’s one-off prices change with its frequent sales, so we don’t quote them; check at checkout. Take a Udemy course if you want one short tutorial for a tool you’ve already picked. Skip it if you want someone to hold you to building a whole funnel.

5. Free theory courses: Great Learning and Alison

Both are free, and neither has you build anything.

Great Learning’s “Free Sales Funnel Course” is 1.5 learning hours at beginner level, with 27.5K+ enrolled. The syllabus is theory: funnel stages, examples, funnel vs pipeline, fixing a funnel and content for each stage. No software is named. The certificate needs you to finish all modules and the assessment, plus a non-refundable fee the page doesn’t state.

Alison’s “Basics of the Sales Funnel” is free, runs about 4–5 hours, is CPD-accredited and ends with a final assessment. It covers sales basics, not building a funnel in software. The certificate price isn’t shown on the page.

Treat either one as your first evening: learn the vocabulary, then move to a build course such as One Funnel Away or Systeme.io’s certification. On its own, a theory course leaves you knowing what a funnel is without having one.

What does each course really cost once you add the software?

Here’s year one with the tool included. One Funnel Away and the HighLevel challenge are the two routes with a monthly bill attached.

The working: OFA’s year one is 12 × $97 = $1,164 paid monthly, or $970 billed annually. The $244 top end is Launch plus both add-ons. HighLevel adds $97/month more if you take its certification. Systeme.io stays at $0 until you pass 2,000 contacts, 3 funnels or 1 course; Startup is then $17/month.

Match the course to the software you’ll actually use, then pick by your situation:

• You’ll build in ClickFunnels: take One Funnel Away. It ends with your funnel already built inside the tool you’ll pay for.
• You want $0 and no card: take Systeme.io’s free certification on its free plan, and set yourself one build task.
• You run a local business that needs leads and bookings: take the HighLevel 5 Day Challenge, and only if you’d keep HighLevel at $97/month.
• You want the theory first: do Great Learning’s 1.5 hours tonight, then start a build course this week.
• You want one tool tutorial: pick a Udemy course updated in 2024 or later, and use the 30-day refund window if it’s stale.

Don’t start there. The affiliate lists ranking for this search put programmes costing up to $1,970 above the beginner pick, which is backwards for someone who hasn’t built a funnel yet.
